INTENDED USE
Rapid Feline Panleucopenia Virus Ag (FPV) Test Kit is a sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Panleucopenia in cat’s feces.
PRINCIPLE
Rapid Feline Panleucopenia Virus Ag Test Kit is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and C (control) zone. When sample is applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow on the surface of the test strip. If there is enough Panleucopenia antigen in the sample, a visible T band will appear. The C band should always appear after a sample is applied, indicating a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of Panleucopenia antigen in the sample.
KIT COMPONENT
-Test device, with disposable droppers
-Assay buffer
-Cotton swabs
-Products Manual
TEST PROCEDURE
1. Collect cat’s fresh feces with the cotton swab. Make the swab wet sufficiently. If for screening FPV in cats without diarrhea, please collect specimen from rectal not feces.
2. Insert the wet swab into the provided assay buffer tubes. Agitate it at least 10 times to get efficient sample extraction. If the fecal particles are large, let it stand for 1-2 minutes to precipitate.
3. Take out the test device from the foil pouch and place it horizontally.
4. Gradually drip 5 drops of sample extraction into the sample hole with disposable droppers.
5. Interpret the result in 10-15 minutes. Result after 15 minutes is considered as invalid.
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Positive: Two lines appear, no matter T line is clear or vague.
Negative: Only C line appears.
Invalid: No line appears or only T line appears.
PRECAUTIONS
1. The test must be used within 1 hour after opening the foil pouch.
2. Adding too much feces samples will cause false positive and overdosing assay buffer can also lead to incorrect results.
3. Extract samples should be tested immediately.
4. Do not use the expired test or the test with damaged foil pouch.
5. Do not reuse the test kit and do not mix components from different lot numbers.
LIMITATION
Pawiser Feline Panleucopenia Virus Ag Test is for in vitro veterinary diagnosis use only. All results should be considered with other clinical information available from veterinarian. For an accurate result, It is suggested to apply other method such as PCR for final determination in practice.
